This posting is for our younger novices. I hear some grumbling that we are focused on one thing only right now--National Qualifier and many of the younger students aren't included. Fair enough but that's the way it has to be right now. Just remember the moment we are done with IFL State--we are focused on YOU! Novice Nationals are just around the corner. You should be thinking about what event you want to do but we are limited by what events are worthwhile to the tournament committee. There will mnost certainly be policy, LD and congress. Public forum was added last year and drew a number of out of state teams. Individual events will depend upon sign ups.
Novice Nationals has been an outstanding tournament each of the 4 years I've been at Roosevelt. We have fun, we find a way to win and we enjoy one another's company. It's a great event. But there is another challenge this year...Congress National Qualifier is the same weekend in NW Iowa. Nate and I cannot be in two places at once so we have to figure that out.
Hopefully we can send Coach Sam to NW Iowa with the Congress team. We'll get it figured out.
In the meantime, you have a topic change in both LD and PF to be thinking about:
PF: Resolved: The US system of presidential primaries is contrary to democratic values.
LD: Resolved: Hate crime enhancements are unjust in the United States.
