Congress Qualifier Update

If anyone is free Saturday March 21 it would be incredibly helpful if you could go "do congress" at the Congress Quals -- the numbers are very low and this risks the number of people who get to qualify.  This tournament is free and only one day long. We only have four people who have expressed interest.

We are 5 days away from the West Iowa Congress Qualifier. Some important information.

1. Legislation has been posted to the Joy of Tournaments page. Please make sure your students get a copy of this. The docket was set by a random drawing, but it can be adjusted at the needs of the chamber.

2. Please get your entries in soon. As of now, our district is sitting at the low end of what we normally bring. . Here are our numbers:

Senate: 13 students from 7 schools- We need one more school for a minimum of 8 schools.

House: We have 14 entries as of now. This would be 1 house. If we hit 32 debaters, we get 2 houses.

The ramifications: (This is the best of my knowledge, if I say something wrong, someone please correct me). If we get one more school in the senate, we qualify 2 in the senate and 1 in the house. Unless we get that 1 additional school, we will have to collapse the senate and house. Since total numbers then are 27, it would be 1 house and thus only 1 qualifier.
