Last week, Coach McCool took two students, Regan Copple and Claire Wallace, to the Wake Forest University Early Bird Tournament in North Carolina. Wake Forest is one of the toughest national level tournaments in the country, and is also one of the first each season. Roosevelt has had a rich history of success at Wake Forest in the last several years, and that has continued again with Regan Copple breaking to quarterfinals in extemp. This was Regan's second national level tournament in extemp in her career, and is certainly a major success. Both Regan and Claire also did exceptionally well in all of the their events including DI and original oratory.
Once again Roosevelt has started off the season on a good note competitively, and we look forward to the continued success of the program as the season continues. Special congratulations to new our new Director of Forensics Lauren McCool on having a student break at her first tournament, and first national level tournament, of her tenure at Roosevelt.
