ATTENTION PARENTS

OUR DEBT WAS "FORGIVEN"
---> we are not responsible for the $46,000 debt.
Special thanks to Principal Biggs for making this happen. We still cannot buy anything on "credit" but we have a lot more flexibility without that bill looming over our season.  

Okay, now that the team is starting to get into the swing of things we need to start organizing our parent volunteers!

Some of the things we need this semester include the following:o In-Town/State tournaments

• Parents who are interested in (learning how to and) judging.
• Parents to organize and supply the judges lounges with food at both our "Tournavelt" and the Paradigm.
• Parents to run concessions at both the Tournavelt and the Paradigm (these are our biggest money makers!) 
• Parents to host other schools' students (and their sleeping bags) at your home during the Tournavelt.
• Parents to coordinate fundraising through supporter/business donations. 
• Developing a student "sponsorship" program.
• Working to develop better connections between the team and alumni (especially from 10+ years ago!)
• Parents to do help develop ways the students can work to raise money. 

I would like to have a meeting for any and (hopefully) all parents that are interested in giving back to the team. We cannot do it without you! Even if you are a new-to-the-team parent we want your input! 

The Parent Volunteer meeting is set for Tuesday September 23 @ 7:30pm. Yes, that is a little far off - but hopefully that will give you time to rearrange schedules. The next two weeks I will be mostly "out of the office" taking students to Wake Forest in NC and Greenhill in Dallas. (Go Regan, Claire, and Emma!) But please feel free to contact me as needed.
