While most of the team and parents do not know Billy Tate, former National Forensic League Board President for many years, we have students and a few parents who knew Coach Tate well. He died of a massive heart attack this past Saturday at the Tennessee Congress National Qualifier. Billy was the head coach of the Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, TN. MBA is the host school of the Southern Bell Forum and the MBA Extemp Round Robin.
Services are tomorrow in Selma, Alabama and a memorial wil be held Sunday afternoon on the campus of MBA. I posted a picture of Billy Tate on the blog as well. The West Iowa NFL District made a contribution to the Memorial for Billy on behalf of all our students.
