Three students attended the speech tournament at Wake Forest this weekend and finished second in speech sweeps! There were nearly 100 schools in the field. The first place team had about 60 students entered so second place meant we did VERY well indeed. Nathan Leys and Lily Nellans split champinships and runner up slots as follows:
Extemp: Won by Nellans, 2nd to Leys
Oratory: Won by Leys, 2nd to Nellans
Impromptu: 5th to Leys
Madi Holmes also contributed sweep points with several ones in her prelim rounds in EX and OO as well. So a great overall tournament for the Riders.
Strong was in speech tab and presented awards in the huge Wait Chapel on campus.
Next weekend is wheels up for the Policy kids at Niles West in Chicago!
