This was from Kathie Danielson today regarding the accident in front of RHS before school. Please slow down in front of the building and use your heads! It would not surprise me that radar is up and running soon on Center, Polk and Chamberlain to remind students to slow down.
Staff, students, and families:
This morning, a student crossing Chamberlain Ave. was hit by a car driven by another Roosevelt student. The injured student was taken by ambulance to the hospital and will be fine.
Every day before and after school there is a great deal of traffic around Roosevelt. Parents are dropping off students, students are driving and seeking parking spots, and pedestrians are walking to and from school.
We want to caution every driver and every pedestrian – please be very careful and alert. What is especially dangerous is driving toward the east on bright, sunny mornings like today.
