For both the regular tournament and the Round Robin--the new two minute close applies vs. the old one minute speech. It is my understanding we are allowed new evidence but not new arguments in our closes. Still I don't like new evidence in closes when your opponents cant answer. If your opponents bring up new evidence..then you will have to answer it. We need to think this through. A two minute compelling speech is not easy which is why the original rule was one minute.
This means, in my mind, more contentious rounds to be judged and I don't like it at all. BUT, we can't change it and the two minute rule will be in effect at Roosevelt and National Qualifier.
