Roosevelt on the Inside

I was briefly handed a hard hat and toured our wing of the building this morning. What a mess but every claims it will be ready to go late August. New floor beams have been installed to support the classrooms above us. All lower hallways have ceilings removed to install new electrical lines. Sewer work is progressing slowly with the rains outside. There has been vandalism--new windows broken, Kybos moved and dropped into 15' holes, etc. But work is getting done on the inside. The gutting of the library is pretty amazing. There is nothing left in there. About all that is left that's normal in our area are the two offices. Everything else is gone and down to bare outside walls. If you haven't driven by of late--do so...piles of dirt everywhere as the new parking lot on the Northwest side goes in. A new sewer line is being dug on the SW side of the building. The west drive (Rider drive) is gone and being repaved. It's pretty amazing.
