Late today we received word that Senior Chris Oman and Junior Mirza Germovic have been named National Forensic League Academic All Americans. Please be sure to congratulate them. they become the 4th and 5th AAA students in our program in the past 3 seasons. Roosevelt had no Academic All Americans prior to 3 years ago.
To apply for AAA recognition a student must have earned at least 750 NFL points, have a 27 or higher ACT (or SAT equivalent), a 3.70 (unweighted) gpa or higher and the appropriate recommendations from coaches and the principal. A student can't apply until after their 5th semester of school. After the applications are submitted, the NFL office then determines the awards. We have the ability to appeal the unweighted requirement based on course rigor but there is no obligation the NFL office will accept the appeal.

Congratulations to Chris and Mirza. Very few NFL students meet all of the requirements for the award...so this is a nice accomplishment! After Spring break we will find a moment for Mrs. Danielson to formally present the awards in the library and take a couple of pictures.
