There are times my job as Head Coach isn't very pretty. I get to deal with a lot. So yesterday when I made the tour of Roosevelt, Central Campus and Pappajohn to notify students of last minute "pull ups" into the national tournament--it was really nice to see the grins break out!
What a neat experience.
Our Nationals entry packet will be sent in this evening but will have to be substancially amended with the additions of Chris Oman/Taylor Karns in PFD and Adele Crane in DX. Congratulations to Taylor and Adele who effectively were pulled up when Sioux City North withdrew from the tournament because of an eligibility issue.
Because our PFD team was next in line Chris and Taylor got pulled up forcing Chris to resign his extemp slot which pulls up Adele.
This is why you always give 110% plus effort at Nationals so if there are pull ups--Roosevelt gets the chances to multiply our opprotunities. It is so easy to get down on yourself at National Qualifiers and those who stay positive and fight hard usually get rewarded in the end.
We really had a huge National Qualifier in Spencer! Congratulations to all! A job very well done.
