What a horrible incident. Heads should roll. These students will no doubt turn into serial murderers and rapists.
All humor aside, our debate students are expected to THINK. That's what we are suppose to be teaching, critical thinking. I suspect conduct such as detailed above would not be well received by your coaches and the consequences harsher.
If you think we are uneffected by the swim team actions, try this thought out: In two weeks we will be parking a number of Roosevelt cars at Dowling early in the morning to share the Charter Bus together to the Schwan's speech tournament. It has already been suggested we not park our cars there but there is no real alternative at 4am.
This also made National news on National Public Radio.
While I am quite sure some swim team members are pleased with their actions and the apparent light punishment, the black eye for the rest of us is not appreciated.
