Eligibility Rules--READ CAREFULLY--There are changes!

At last night's coaches meeting, there was a discussion about new interpretations of the eligibility rules. There is a new wrinkle this year....Rider Time counts as an academic class and will be reviewed for eligibility for debate and sports. If you fail Rider Time, the school will sit you for 30 days. Last year, we had some older students think they could cut Rider Time on a pretty regular basis.

DON'T DO IT!!!! 30 DAYS FOR CUTTING RIDER TIME IS A SERIOUS PENALTY!!! DON'T FAIL TO PUT IN YOUR COMMUNITY SERVICE--10 HRS EACH SEMESTER OR YOU WIL FAIL RIDER TIME!

Also something else new....if you fail to appear for assigned detentions, school service or other school manadated issues, they will pull you from competition until those penalities have been satisfied.

We have a new principal with a more complete view of eligibility than before.

And, as last year, Nate and I will someday just stop in and start physically checking to see that you are in class when you are suppose to be there. We are paying attention to grades and attedance.
