Final season ending results from the National Tournament include:
Spencer McCurrin from Dowling is the National Champion in Humerous Interp
Schmidt and Hobbs from Sioux City Heelen are the National Champions in Public Forum (but are not State champions as they lost to Fairfield and Strong of Roosevelt in January in the State finals).
Coach Pete's new school Cedar Rapids Washington finished in the semis (3rd) of policy debate
Nationals.
Iowa City West finished 2nd in HI
Tommy Morgan of Valley made quarters in US extemp
Okoboji's PF team almost snuck into quarters-what a run for them. Lincoln's PF team advanced but lost the next two rounds and were eliminated. RHS's team of Fairfield and Strong fell one ballot short of the runoff round going 7-5.
In the supplemental event Extemp Commentary Sam and Billy are to be commended for almost getting a chance at a National final round. Sam's luck ran out in Quarter finals and Billy's ran out in Octo Finals.
Both Billy and Sam picked up a huge number of points at the tournament which wont be posted for awhile but the belief is that both wil be around 1050 NFL points at the end of the season.
Thats two more degrees for the season as well!

This has been an exciting and highly sucessful season for Roosevelt. It was RHS's 19th appearance at Nationals and I know our 20th appearance will be next June with at least 5 individuals making the trip!
