East + Bettendorf - Sign up on Tuesday 11/3

Hello from Michigan! This weekend we are one team in three states! On Wednesday, Jacob Thompson and Daniel Drane flew out to Florida to the invite-only Blue Key Round Robin and Tournament in Florida. On Thursday, the two varsity policy teams drove to Michigan for the Michigan University Policy Tournament in Ann Arbor. On Friday, the speech team and a novice policy team competed at North High School – and congrats to our winners at North (Regan Copple – 1^st in DI and 2^nd in Extemp, Maddie Kahl – 1^st in Info and Top Novice, Finn Andersen – Top Extemp Novice)! Today, Saturday, the competition continues in all three places!

Needless to say we are busy but we have to keep planning for the weekends to come!

For planning purposes we need to know who wants to attend East, Bettendorf, or both by Tuesday Nov 3 (see info below). If a student commits to attending on Tuesday they will be responsible for all associated fees even if they choose to not attend.

East High School Tournament: 11/6 - 11/7

• Friday 11/6: Speech Only (OO, POI, EXT, DUO, HI, DI, Prose, Poetry, SPON, INFO)
• Saturday 11/7: Debate Only (Congress, Public Forum, Novice Policy, Novice LD)
• Cost: Approximately $35.00 (Students will need to provide own Transportation)

Bettendorf Bulldog: 11/13-11/14
                (The McCool’s are not traveling to/attending this tournament…)

• Events: Novice Policy, Public Forum, Congress, DI, DUO, Extemp, HI, Info, POI, OO
• Housing Cost: The Wallace’s have graciously offered to house those who choose to attend.
• Transportation Cost: TBD – depends upon number of interested students and available adults.
• Judging Cost:  TBD - depends upon number of interested students and available adults.
• Entry Fee: Debate- $18 per person, Speech + Congress - $15 per person
