We made it! We survived! We learned a LOT about running our tournament.
First, thanks to the oh-so-many parents who spent so much time and money this weekend helping us run concessions and house visiting students. Judges and kids were happy across the board.
For those of you who are interested we are going to hold a Tournavelt Concession Wrap Up meeting next Wednesday (October 29) at 5pm in the library. This is a parent's only meeting and will center around future concession procedures and other fundraising opportunities.
Second, I am very proud of our students who worked so hard this weekend! From running ballots, to cleaning rooms, to making copies, to manning the ballot table, to making walking tacos -- many members of the squad did great work.
Third, we are gearing up for more whole-team tournaments. Currently we don't need any parents to drive (its cheaper in the long run to share a bus with another school) but please let me know if you are interested in attending a tournament with the team. Below this message I have posted the updates of due dates and prices for upcoming tournaments. The students will also recieve this in paper form. Please read it and ask any questions ASAP.
Fourth, we are going to need judges for the East HS tournament November 7-8. This is a small, local, easy going tournament that the students can attend for free. If you are interested in judging or know someone who would be please let me know.
Fifth, please remember we are also hosting a portion of the Dowling tournament. Add it to your calendars now it is the weekend of December 12-14.
