Here are some BIG items to be handled as we prepare for State:
1). Each of you have finals on Friday before the State Tournament and on the Monday-Tuesday after the tournament. Both Central and Roosevelt have requested the following from our students:
FINALS MAKEUPS NEED TO BE COMPLETE FOR THE FRIDAY FINALS PRIOR TO THE TOURNAMENT BECAUSE OF THE GRADING WINDOW THIS SEMESTER. BECAUSE OF THE TIGHT TURN AROUND FOR COLLEGE REPORTING, THE GRADE CUTOFF IS WEDNESDAY. THE REGISTRAR NEEDS GRADES PRIOR TO THAT. HENCE THE ONLY WAY THIS WORKS IS THAT YOU MAKE UP YOUR FINALS FOR THE FRIDAY SESSIONS BEFORE THE IHSSA STATE DEBATE TOURNAMENT.
This is your responsibility--YOU must on the first day back make finals arrangements with your teachers for those Friday exams. DO IT the first day back. This is important.
Any teacher who refuses must be shared with Mr. Biggs or Ms. Carlisle the first day back. I can do that for you BUT I am at MBA Extemp Round Robin. Lily and I fly out on the 2nd and don't return to the 6th. So if you don't want to deal with the principals yourself--send me a text with details...block #, teacher and subject and what the teacher said.
There are teachers who don't want to early accommodate and will need some encouragement from their administrators. Thus, you must do this ASAP.
You could even email the teachers of the Friday afternoon finals now and ask permission for an early final.
