This weekend in her prelims in speech at Bettendorf, Murphy cleared the 1500 point mark in her National Forensic League career. Only about 1% of the 120,000 students in the league exceed 1500 points in their career and earn the degree of "Premier Distinction." DMPS will issue a press release in May honoring each who has reached the highest level in the activity. Several others are closing in on the mark at well: Julianna Courard-Hauri is 1318 in points and Emma Weddle is 1115. Max Pilcher will clear the 1000 point mark this weekend in Marshalltown. Congratulations to each of you!
