Students are excused from both Central and Roosevelt after first block on Friday. Parents: PLEASE do not push your luck and have your kid(s) stay through second block and then drive them to Ankeny. This is State and we know the mess we are about to walk into. We really do need these kids out after block one and on their way. They have to change, eat, get there (not easy) and get focused on their first rounds. Showing up and pushing the envelop only encourages a first round loss.
This is the youngest team we have taken to State in some time and we need them there and settled down well ahead of start time. This team has a chance of three peating this team championship but their overall youth is a concern. We have lots of extra judges and coaches on hand for them. We need them there, focused on what needs to be done and giving this team a chance. Normally I am pretty supportive on being in their seats as long as possible in the classroom but this is one of three tournaments I need them and ready to go. Thanks for your understanding!
