Three Roosevelt Students to MBA!

We are allowed to release this information internally to our school but not publiclySo, students, do not announce this to the world via social media!  The Montgomery Bell Academy will announce their round robin selections publicly in a week or so.

Three Roosevelt extemp students have been invited and accepted their bids to the MBA Extemp Round Robin!  They are Nathan Leys, Lily Nellans and Carolyn Evans.  Carolyn received her bid last night after judging arrangements were made for her.

There is a bit of history in the three bids.  The MBA goal is to bring together the top 16 extempers in the country in a first class competitive and social event.  There usually are one or two regrets within that field.  So it is reasonable to claim they have most of the top extempers in the nation (but not all).
It is, in my mind, the single most difficult extemp field in the country in  MIXED EXTEMP event.
Many extempers are great in one area but not the other area.  Thus, the test at MBA is different than NFL nationals.

As the years have gone by, the MBA Round Robin became the most selective and the most demanding invitational in the country.

Roosevelt just became the first school in modern MBA extemp round robin history with three bids!  Rarely does a school get two bids so when this breaks around the country, this will not go unnoticed!
