I always hate the election cycle during debate because it tends to get us off focus so from that perspective, I am happy, as a coach, it is over. I have been seriously wondering if Walmart, Target, new car dealers and the like all went out of business because they couldn't advertise!
That aside, I want to compliment those in our program who were motivated to work the campaign. Certainly, Carolyn's and Madi's efforts should be applauded. I suspect both girls are glad it is done--win or lose.
But we also had another set of students who volunteered and also learned first hand about how politics work in America. Good for you!
Now we have to get focused on debate resolutions and trying to hold on to the Big prize--winning our third consecutive state debate championship! Strong
