Thanks to everyone who showed up today, took pictures and participated in the letter signing for Carolyn Evans who accepted a rather large scholarship to attend and compete for Western Kentucky University in Speech and Debate. WKU is one of the very best programs in the nation and Carolyn is the second Roosevelt student to be awarded a big time scholarship to compete there.
Carolyn's journey in speech and debate has been amazing considering this is her 15th month in the activity. She transfered from Hoover at the start of her junior year--having never competed in speech or debate prior to Roosevelt. That says a lot about her as a competitor, our program and our school that WKU would choose her to fill their open slot in extemp/debate. Equally as important, Carolyn was admitted to WKU's Honor's Program! Congratulations Carolyn!!!!!
