Roosevelt Debate has been awarded the NFL Leading Chapter Award! This award is only presented to schools who earn more than 600 rounds of speech or debate at the National Qualifier and are the highest point total on the district list. Roosevelt accumulated 624 rounds of qualifier speech and debate and did it inexactly five years--the minimum wait time between awards! Congratulations to all students over the past 5 years who helped bring it back to Roosevelt!
A new award has been established to better recognize the highest performing students in each state. There are nearly 120,000 student members of the NFL nationally. Just short of 1200 of them are in Iowa. The new State All American Award is designed to recognize the top 1% of students in each state.
In Iowa last season, four Roosevelt students earned the recognition:

Three Dowling, two Iowa City West, a Valley and a Muscatine student were recognized. Congratulations to each Roosevelt student but especially to Kayeigh and Katy who graduated last May! What a neat way to end your NFL careers!
