Emma will be competing tomorrow in the Valley Sophomore Hoe Down which is a special round robin event for select sophomores from around the nation in LD debate. We are excited for Emma to be included in the group.
She might be at a competetive disadvantage in that most of the students in the round robin have a tournament under their belt already. Unfortuantly for us, there were no local or regional tournaments for her compete in prior to this weekend.
Still, just being included is HUGE for her and our program.
Make sure that you congratulate her when you see her on her selection and opprotunity no matter the results! This is one of those deals that being recognized and being included is the reward. She will be debating against the best in the country at her age group. It will be a challenging day for her but a day that will help her tremendously in the future.
