This is a thank you note for Kathy Roat and Mary Johnson. Not only did they judge a lot in Okoboji so we could compete, they also drove through some ugly snow on the way home. I want to be sure they have been thanked publicly for their contributions to the team and specifically the students who made the trip. As of result of going to Okoboji:
1). Roosevelt was in NW Iowa and seen by NW Iowa national qualifier judges (huge)
2). Roosevelt supported NW Iowa debate within our district (very important)
3). A group of Roosevelt kids had a fantastic weekend and competed well
4). The Varsity students who traveled to DC were able to go because the coaching void was filled.
Each year the Okoboji tournament has become a better and better bonding trip for our younger students.
When you see these two parents this weekend, thank them for what they did for the team--it was huge!
