I have added two more events to the schedule, one of which might be a good idea for those on the District Qualifier team. In normal seasons, Roosevelt has hosted the weekend of Jan 21st, in part for the points and in part to get to know the February PF topic better for national qualifier. This year we are not hosting as we did in October.
The net result is that the last weekend of the month, City High in Iowa City is offering a new tournament which fulfills those functions. I know many of our extempers will be at Schwann's Speech in Marshall, MN that weekend. But the rest of our speech and debate kids could be in Iowa City IF we can find a coach and some parent drivers/judges.
Please let me know if you have a parent willing to help out that weekend. It would be a huge benefit to our qualifying team.
Secondly, only for my old memory, I have added UPenn in Philadelphia the same weekend as Harvard to remind me that we have two students and a parent there that weekend competing in their round robin in Public Forum. We are not taking anyone else to UPenn that weekend.
