The Blake School tournament is the single hardest event we do each varsity season....this is a loaded field with students from nearly every state.
VCX--The Hou's post a creditable 3-4 record which could easily have been a 4-3. In the past month they have grown from a 2nd year CX team getting consistantly beaten to a team starting to mature as Varsity policy debaters winning half their rounds.
VLD--Sam was three three
Congress--Congrats to Luke who made the final round of 24 students and we believe finished 9th overall.
VPF--Two teams advanced seeded 16th and 17th (a death wish in seeding). Max and Madison bow out in their bid round (doubles) and did not get their second TOC bid. Kayleigh and Nathan got their bid and faced the #1 seed in octos and lost a 3-0 round. A judge afterwards told me it was the single best round he had judged in 5 years.
Sunday is the PF round robin--an ugly affair of in your face public forum debate at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis. We have never done better than middle of the pack. But this is perhaps the best team we have sent here yet!
