An agreement has been reached with the athletic coaches in charge of the PASS program and debate allowing freshmen student athletes who are in debate to be accommodated on Wednesdays for team meeting provided they have all A's and B's in their grades. Those with a C or less MUST be with the athletic coaches.
This agreement does not include tomorrow as a speaker will be present for the first year athletes regarding college admissions and the NCAA clearinghouse.
Starting next Wednesday, students are to show me their grade printouts to remain with debate after school. A student who has no grade in a class downtown will NOT be penalized if their other classes are A and B marks.
There is value to what the athletic coaches are trying to accomplish and now we can be fully supportive of their efforts and yet get done what we need to get done on Wednesdays at 1pm!
