We’re keeping this brief.
Freshman reputation- We aren’t bringing the Cows to the negotiating table, period. If you won’t tell us of specific reputation harms, we aren’t going to discuss this any longer. You lose this point because you failed to address the point.
Originality- We already discussed the fact that the Cows will not live a life in the shadows of the goats. A fun idea was presented to us, and we decided to try it. If the previous caretakers themselves would like to discuss this further, we will. We might even consider extending the similar, but individual events that have occurred every year since 2009 to be referred to as a “tradition” on the debate team. Will be responded to by a Varsity Co-Captain.
Education- We ask that you bring forward a specific case where the educational environment was harmed because of the Cows. Because you weren’t present during the Cow’s appearances, it makes sense that you struggle to understand the nature of these appearances. We would happily provide testimonies from students upon request to show that the few times the Cows have been present, not interruptions have occurred.
Furthermore, it is not the coaches’ deciding whether or not the lesson with which Ryan played a part in was effective. Full points were awarded by the teacher (who was actually present during the lesson, unlike the coaches) therefore, the Cows have been beneficial to the educational process.
If you are concerned about teachers’ time, don’t send them emails regarding two plastic cows.
We have agreed not to have the Cows present during class; the argument that Audrey and Ryan are taking away educational experiences is no longer a present threat. It is clear the educational value of the lesson in which the cows participated was close to worthless because Claire couldn’t recall the points of the lesson. This has been communicated to her teacher with a request to remove extra credit points because the lesson failed and because there is no reason for extra credit in a required DMPS/State of Iowa class for graduation.
Further marbles are a ridiculous item of value. Money is to be a lot of things--personally MCS prefers the saftey of gold and silver. It never loses value like the US dollar. By purchasing toy animals, you have given your money to some overseas cheap plastic factory that is getting rich on American teen age girls who love toy animals. (Actually the cows were meant for three year olds but that is another issue). Nevertheless you have personally damaged the value of American dollars by participating in a buy overseas plot to destroy America. You have personally lowered the value of American dollars worldwide. So, your economics teacher failed to teach you anything about money. So while some overseas factory owner is lunching on his yacht...American factory workers are collecting unemployment because you wouldn't support them!
Intellectual Property Theft- If the caretakers of Sofar and Shofar would like to bring this to the table, we would gladly discuss it with one or both of them. However, coach involvement is not necessary. You are risking the wrath of your team mates…especially Varsity team members who are highly respected in the debate community compared to two freshmen cowgirls!
Illegal Immigration- Show us any evidence to prove that their home country is China, and we will discuss it.
You clearly don’t want to discuss this issue at all…all cattle have a brand. A trip is being made to the Amana Colonies to determine the branding of the cattle when they were acquired. You should pray it isn’t China.
Biological Weapons- You are switching arguments on us. You began by telling us the Cows were at risk of Hoof-and-Mouth disease on April 18, and then continued on April 20 to share evidence regarding FMD, or Foot-in-Mouth disease. Please clarify which one you are referring to, and we will readdress it. We have evidence indicating that all of Asia is at risk of FMD and that nations are taking this treat seriously including the culling of suspected animals in Korea. Here is a sample:
SEOUL, April 17 (Xinhua) -- An additional outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) has been found in a southeast province in South Korea, the country's Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said on Sunday.
The ministry said the cases of the highly contagious disease was reported in a pig farm in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province on Saturday. The infected pigs later tested positive for the disease.
To prevent further spread of the contagion, the quarantine authorities ordered to cull the six infected pigs and take control measures to human and vehicles access to the farm. They also asked for all livestock farms in the country to take preventive measures.
The ministry said last week that the disease, which broke out in November last year, has practically come to an end, and lowered the alert level from "orange" to "yellow", the second-lowest status in the four-tiered alert system, as no additional burial of livestock has occurred after the last case in Hongseong, South Chungcheong Province, on March 21.
The highly contagious animal disease, first confirmed on Nov. 29, has forced the country to cull more than 3.47 million livestock, mostly pigs and cattle, resulting in losses of 3 trillion won (2.6 billion U.S. dollars).
The FMD is a highly contagious and sometimes fatal disease that can affect cloven-hoofed animals including pigs, sheep and goats, while humans are hardly affected by the virus.
The country previously suffered such outbreaks in 2000 and 2002, which caused a fall in dairy exports.

Health of Cows- Audrey and Ryan do not want to share their medical papers with the debate team. To be frank, we don’t really care what disease you think they have. We have assured you they are healthy, and you will never be in direct contact with the Cows, so their health is not an issue to you. Without a regular dose of antibiotics, cows can’t be protected from human diseases so you have them in an environment where they could become ill with colds, flu and god only knows what else. We cannot accept your answer. If they are getting antibiotics daily, please provide a copy of the prescription. Cows are known carriers of diseases-get real.
Further because cattle must be treated for diseases they carry to humans such as HMD which are highly contagious-they must be treated for those diseases if their origins are from an area where FMD is out of control. It is more than China as demonstrated above. The rule as demonstrated above is that when FMD is present, or when FMD is a possible contagion the correct and simple solution is to cull the suspected animals to prevent spread of the disease to the human community. Cull is an interesting word, MCS suggests you find a dictionary so you realize the full impact.
Promotion of Religion- To clarify, the student who was asked about Waldox was asked by the caretakers, not by either Audrey or Ryan. In fact, the Cows were more than five miles away from the location of this discussion. Any “religious promotion” claimed to have occurred would have been the action of the caretakers, not the Cows. No promotion occurred because the student still possesses no knowledge or opinion regarding Waldox. Protection of your friends will not work—they are guilty by association—the MCS has indicted them as well. If you wish to leave them out to dry that is your problem. We will eventually get to them as well. Waldox weddings are not legal in Iowa and the claim it wasn’t a wedding is bull++++ to use a cow term. The MDS wishes to THANK YOU for the “Wedding” Album! It is beautiful and particularly well done. I’m sure the handlers will have fond memories for many years—because the cows won’t—they will be in the freezers of the members of the MCS.
Defamation- We’re tired, so we’ll bring this up later. The main point is that (as you said) the Cows are not guilty and (as we will prove later) you are. The defamation charges are more than just the coaches..you have also defamed the Des Moines Independent Community School District and more. DMPS has lots of money to pursue those who defame either its well being or that of its employees. Do you need the name of the head of the DMPS legal department for your cow’s attorneys? We would be happy to provide. Further, one of the coaches is fully protected by the legal resources of the DMEA. He has paid this public employee service union a lot of money over the years and is willing to sick their legal dogs on your cows.
Cow Branding- The caretakers refuse to participate in such an inhumane process. We take a stand of civil disobedience, and will allow Audrey and Ryan to survive without suffering. It is considered offensive by all parties involved that such intelligent creatures would have to stoop to such levels.
For everything else: sentence the Cows. Let’s see if you can actually carry out your threats.
P.S. Audrey and Ryan aren’t from China. Please do your research in the future.
MCS members fail to see why you can’t provide for an inspection of the animals in the debate room to see where their natural habitat was. Bring them in--we have never stolen plastic animals from freshmen girls--that is almost inhumane! You are acting like President Obama hiding his birth certificate here—pretending like it just doesn’t matter. Be cautious how you use civil disobedience...MCS suggests a comprehensive review of the C/O documentation on planet debate from a topic involving PUBLIC HEALTH a few years ago.
