Roosevelt begins this next season (as usual) ranked 5th in Iowa behind all the usual opponents: Valley, Indianola, Dowling, West and then us. However, the degree difference between the programs has narrowed a lot and with a coaching change at Indianola and no one knowing what will happen at IC West, opportunities might exist for us to improve our ranking this season.
Individually: Tess Yocom begins this season ranked 44th on the All American Watch list and Mike Flannery begins at 146th. To get on the watch list, a students must be in the Top 150 of all NFL points. There are about 100,000 student members of the NFL so these are no small accomplishments. Plus we have some students just off the watch list as well who might impact things this season.
HALF of the Top 25 ranked students in our district are Roosevelt students. WOW! And 7 of the Top 10 in our District are Roosevelt students.
Further the Top 10 in Iowa includes 7 Roosevelt students: Tess, Mike, Catherine, Sam, and Taylor are the Top 5 and the next 5 includes Sarah, Harrison and Aida!
