Final results are that Roosevelt had a team place in the Top 10 for the first time in years...8th place to our older team who finished state with a 2-1 record. They were defeated in round #2 by Garner Hayfield of North Central Iowa. Garner is seeded 3rd in today's semifinals. Valley was 7th, Dowling 5th and Urbandale is the only metro team in the semi final round.
Mirza Germovic was named an All State Attorney! Congratulations to him.
The younger of the two Roosevelt teams in the State finals finished with a one win two loss record after a difficult draw. I witnessed their rounds a lot and was impressed with how good they really were...that team put up a great fight. So the future of Roosevelt Mock Trial remains strong.
In addition to Garner and Urbandale in the semi finals--so are Pocahontas and Robbins (Cedar Rapids Xavier). Robbins is the odds on favorite to win again.
