This season ends in a flourish of tournaments this week and weekend. We actually have 3 events to finish the year for most of our students: Mock Trial State starts Wednesday afternoon; Novice nats begins Friday afternoon and Congress Qualifiers are on Saturday.
Mock trial students are excused after 6th period Wednesday until eliminated. Novice National students are excused after 3rd hour on Friday to go to Iowa City.
Coach Abra will advise Mock Trial plans for Wednesday and Thursday to the teams by Tuesday.
The difficult issue would be if the younger of the two mock trial teams reaches semi finals at State on Friday morning. Then some decisions will have to be reached as to how we handle Novice Nationals. Coach Nate and I have talked through our options and notified the tournament committee of our challenges. The team event (Mock Trial) comes first since it involves so many students. So if you are on that mock trial team, do your best to make it to semi finals on Friday morning.
At this point we still do not know how many students are headed to Congress Quals and with whom. So we will advise all the weekend travel plans as soon as we complete the basic planning.
