If you will be patient for a day, we will be reposting evidence packages onto our blog site now that another layer of security has been added. The new layer cost us $80/yr but appears to have done the trick. It will be transparent to you as a user.
This latest security breach was not the fault of anyone in our program. This was a case of Goggle finding new ways to search more information on the web and posting it to anyone bright enough to go searching for it. The new system will not be searchable by design--period.
Evidence packages are not to be shared with anyone at anytime. They are for our use and no one else's use under any circumstances. We have a license to use within the program. We do not have a license to redistribute. If a student reveals our passwords and security to others, then our postings of such items will be available to them. That would be a serious violation of our license agreements. Des Moines Public Schools takes such circumstances very seriously. If we were to violate the agreement with an evidence package company there would be big trouble for all concerned.
So, as always, some common sense applies here. You will be able to use the new link but you have to do it with knowing you cannot share the link, our site or the evidence package with anyone else.
