For those so motivated, you have between now and Friday, September 26th at midnight to submit one entry (per student) to a special contest. Your aim is to predict the future...what will be the most significant, newsworthy happening during the month of October?
You can be as outlandish as you wish but know in doing so we are awarding a prize (of NO significant financial value whatsoever) to the person in the eyes of the 3 person panel judges (forever unknown to you) who came to the closest to predicting the future.
In order for there to be a winner these guidelines must be followed:
1). Entries are emailed to Coach Harry with a copy to Coach Nate by the deadline. No text messages, no phone calls, nothing else counts.
2). Consideration will only be given to those entries which somehow got close to predicting the future (ie: whatever they mentioned happened to some significant extent).
3). No entries will be accepted involving anything except a noteworthy event which must have been published in a TRHS acceptable news source. (In other words predicting the Homecoming Queen or King doesn't count).
4). Once submitted, entries become the property of TRHS debate and can and will be used in any fashion to the coaches so choose! In other words, this is not a secret contest! What you predict may get laughed at so be careful--but no guts-no glory either!
5). All decisions are final--there are no appeals--this is not policy debate--we will not debate the decision or the rules that lead to it after the fact!
