Coaches reached a decision on how to expand the number of co-captains in our program to better fit the larger size of the program expected next season. As of aresult of the decision, the 3 returning seniors (each of whom have proven themselves) will be named co-captains. Taylor, Chris and Lillian have each accepted. There will be an election on 4-9 (Wed) after school to fill the remaining slot with a junior. We have also changed our expectations of our co-captains.
Captain candidates must SELF NOMINATE by next Wednesday. They will be provided the expectations once we are informed of their intentions to seek a leadership position. No floor nominations will be allowed. No candidacy will go to vote unless they have SELF NOMINATED and visited with the coaches. This is not to scare candidates off but rather to give candidates and coaches an opprotunity to candidly visit prior to someone's election.
Being a Co-Captain is not meant to be an honor without contribution. Leadership is expected (and needed) to handle the expected large number of incoming ninth graders next season.
