Public Forum 3rd best Speaker Award: Catherine Chiodo
Public forum Octo-Finals: Taylor Karns and Alex Patch
Congress: 1st Chris; 2nd Billy; 4th Amelia; 5th Olivia; 6th Tess
There was no sweeps calculation but Nate and I are pretty convinced we performed at or slightly above our state ranking of 6th. That is important as the Fall Conference is the only early season test of the upcoming state speech and debate championships in March at the University of Iowa.
Mark your calendars now: 2nd weekend in March. Thursday-Friday and Saturday trip. IHSFL State Championships. We will be staying at the Iowa House Hotel at Memorial Union on the Iowa campus. It is a fun trip and one with a lot of opprotunities for us this season. Last year we finished 3rd in speech as a team and 5th in debate!
