In an effort to upgrade our tournament a bit, we are going to TRY to establish some form of a national exempt event as part of our tournament this year. We are going to see if we can find 6-8 national level and regional extempers to come to Des Moines on Jan 18-20 to compete against Iowa's best in extemp. It would be both a regular and cross ex event. I would like to bring in a college coach or two to help judge. I believe we can get a student or two from Lincoln-East in Nebraska who has an incredible history in extemp. Hopefully Madison Grinnell in Omaha can attend and I'll bet we could attract a Minneapolis area student of two down here.
