Roosevelt had 3 students attend Extemp TOC at Northwestern University over this past weekend with some nice results to report:
Olivia Sandbothe qualified into Quarter Finals and faced her very first Extemp Cross Examination--from one of the best in the country Marcus Brazil of California. She was eliminated in quarters.
Billy Strong qualified into quarters with the 7th best prelim score overall but failed in quarters as well.
Sam Fairfield just missed clearing to quarter finals.
This is the second year in a row that RHS has advanced someone into Extemp TOC Quarters which is a great accomplishment.
There were 84 students from 22 states qho qualified this year. About 20 were State tournament placewinners who were not circuit material but the other 64 or so were very good extemp competitors.
By their finish in quarters this season, Olivia and Billy do not need to requalify for next year's Extemp TOC!
