Like every sport, speech and debate has its ranking system to determine the best teams and the best individuals. Here's some numbers:
Our team ranking in our NFL District is #7. We reached 13th once last year but finished 15th.
Sam Fairfield is close to becoming an official All American candidate now just 47 points shy of being in the top 150 individual point winners in the country. Billy Strong is only 92 points shy of the same accomplishment. Both will max out regular NFL points this season and will be able to earn more only through district and national NFL tournaments. If they can get past Nat Quals, both will have a chance, albiet not a huge chance, of All American status this season.
Billy is now ranked #23 in the nation in extemp. Sam is not ranked because the ranking service did not award points for quarter finalist at St. Mark's. Billy has one Extemp TOC bid. Sam has earned both of his bids.
